Design of a multi-view photogrammetric system based on low cost cameras for the 3d forensic face recognition

HIGHLIGHTS

• What: This research shows the potential of low-cost photogrammetry for generating accurate 3D facial models which could significantly improve the effectiveness of forensic face recognition. Material and method Three types of experiments were conducted to evaluate the performance of a multi-view photogrammetric system based on low-cost cameras. This study proposes a multi-view photogrammetric approach using low-cost Raspberry Pi HQ cameras to create high-precision 3D mugshots with submillimetre accuracy.
