Determination of intestinal parasitic contamination of naira notes in sokoto metropolis

HIGHLIGHTS

  • What: This study investigated the prevalence of parasitic of in A total of one hundred and sixty samples of Nigerian consisting of twenty pieces of each denomination were used for this study. This study showed that the Nigerian currency in circulation within are contaminated with five parasite species that are known to be pathogenic to humans. Findings from this study have shown that circulating Naira notes in Sokoto metropolis were contaminated irrespective of currency sources and note types.
