Development of [124/125i]iaza as a new proteinopathy imaging agent for alzheimer’s disease

HIGHLIGHTS

SUMMARY

Iodine-124, because of its longer half-life, will allow for extended imaging times, enabling greater clearance of nonspecific binding and thus providing potentially better image contrast, which may be useful when small levels of Aβ plaques are present. Iodine-125 sodium iodide, carrier-free (specific_activity=643 MBq/µg) in 0.01N NaOH, was purchased from American Radiolabeled Chemicals, Inc. Iodine-124 sodium iodide, carrier-free (specific_activity ≥ 1000 GBq/µmole) in 0.01N NaOH, was purchased from 3DImaging, LLC., Little Rock, AK, USA. Analysis of in_vitro autoradiographs was carried out by using the Optiquant . . .
