SUMMARY

    It has been previously confirmed that HIBD causes the extensive death of neurons (Yıldız et_al, 2017; Chen et_al, 2021); this is similar to the main mechanisms underlying olfactory cognitive dysfunction described above. In the developing brain, neurogenesis persists in two neurogenic niches (Poiana et_al, 2020; Cebrian-Silla et_al, 2021; Du et_al, 2021). Neonatal HIBD often causes audiovisual impairment, cerebral palsy, cognitive dysfunction, memory difficulties and other neurological sequelae (Disdier and Stonestreet, 2020; Finder et_al, 2020; Zhao et_al, 2021).
