- what: The authors demonstrate that voids created in high-index dielectric host materials support localized resonant modes with exceptional optical properties. The authors show that these void modes are predicted by Mie`s theory and bear close resemblance with the Mie modes of a high-index sphere, yet showing subtle, but significant differences. The novelty of the work , compared to the state of the art, is thus the experimental implementation of a new building . . .
