HIGHLIGHTS
- who: Arabidopsis and colleagues from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Bulgaria Beijing Normal University, China have published the paper: Division of cortical cells is regulated by auxin in Arabidopsis roots, in the Journal: (JOURNAL)
- what: The authors investigated the development of the cortex in Arabidopsis roots. The authors showed that DR5::VENUS plants treated with the polar auxin transport inhibitor NPA exhibit severely reduced auxin response in central xylem cells. The authors demonstrated that auxin increases the number of cortical cells by promoting the anticlinal and periclinal division of cortical cells.
