Dna self-assembly: from chirality to evolution

HIGHLIGHTS

  • who: Youri Timsit from the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, Aix-Marseille Université, IGS , have published the research work: DNA Self-Assembly: From Chirality to Evolution, in the Journal: (JOURNAL)
  • what: The present review is focused on the properties of close and direct DNA-DNA interactions. This study showed that right-handed DNA crossovers are thermodynamically stable in solution in the presence of divalent cations. The model proposes that the cell may dispose of a collection of DNA-DNA interactions with varying degree of stability that can be exploited for tuning chromatin compaction.
