    HSD is often performed as a part of infertility workup, before the assisted reproduction technique (ART) protocol, because it is believed to raise the success rate of in_vitro fertilization (IVF)/intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) procedures. Infertile women in the study group underwent HSD, while infertile women who underwent hysteroscopic procedures (endometrial biopsy, endometrial polypectomy, or myomectomy) other than HSD were considered controls.
