Dutch perspectives on the conceptual and moral qualification of human embryo-like structures: a qualitative study

SUMMARY

    Despite the growing stream of academic publications on the science and governance of this emerging field (Hyun et_al, 2020; Pereira Daoud et_al, 2020; Sawai et_al, 2020; Clark et_al, 2021; Matthews et_al, 2021), little is known about public perspectives on the conceptual and moral qualifications of hELS, and on what this should entail for the use of these structures in research. This reading was echoed by a (small) number of focus group participants, but much more pronounced in interviews with respondents reasoning from religious worldviews, which confirmed what the authors already knew about the moral . . .
