SUMMARY
Eating disorders such as binge-eating disorder (BED), bulimia nervosa (BN), and anorexia nervosa (AN) are complex and potentially life-threatening psychiatric illnesses. Although research into eating disorders has made substantial progress in recent years, the limited success of available treatments underscores the need for a more complete picture of how to best understand and approach this cluster of disorders.
