HIGHLIGHTS

• What: The authors employed various complementary approaches and identified MYBL2 as a novel transcriptional regulator of ADGB gene_expression. The authors aimed to identify additional transcription factors that interact with the ADGB promoter sequence. The authors provide evidence that in addition to FOXJ1, MYBL2 and PITX2 also robustly bind to the endogenous ADGB promoter. By deciphering the regulatory mechanisms that underlie ADGB gene_expression, this study provides the basis for exploring a broader functional context.
