The study concludes that "more value-added research is needed to identify more effective game design features and instructional design features and provide design guidelines for chemistry GBL" (Hu et_al, 2022; p 1531). The authors have to note that this result was not surprising, since several researchers have highlighted during the last decade that educational and game design principles have not yet been adequately integrated (Bellotti et_al, 2011; De Gloria et_al, 2014) and this does not allow the authors to make the most out of SGs both in learning and entertainment.
