SUMMARY
Obstructive sleep_apnea (OSA) is a chronic disorder characterized by the episodic narrowing of the upper airway during sleep, followed by episodic hypoxia and sleep fragmentation. Polysomnography (PSG) in the sleep laboratory is still the one and only test used for the diagnosis of OSA, and adjusting patients` CPAP is the gold standard of treatment. The main finding was that 2 months of CPAP treatment improved oxygen consumption (VO2 ) and physical exercise tolerance, although their BMIs did not change.
