  • What: Simultaneous stimulation of the subthalamic nucleus and substantia nigra (STN + SNr stimulation) has been introduced in PD patients with the primary goal to improve another axial symptom, freezing of gait (Weiss et_al 2013). The aim of this study was to assess the impact of combined STN + SNr stimulation on speech and voice in PD and to compare the effect with conventional STN stimulation.
