  • What: This study investigated the effects of an experimentally designed situation with low outcome predictability to assess the participants` motivation to exert cognitive effort. The focus of this study extends beyond the direct effects of COVID-19 to encompass stress arising from perceived cognitive uncontrollability during the pandemic and potential long-term health consequences (for an overview, see Widmann et_al, 2023).
