SUMMARY
Total elbow arthroplasty (TEA) is a viable option for patients with end-stage, symptomatic elbow pathology such as post-traumatic arthritis, post-traumatic deformities, primary osteoarthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis. In conclusion, both retrieval and prosthetic design studies report elbow load values that lead to failure and thus should not be exceeded following TEA. Daily tasks can result in high loads and thus stresses on the elbow depending on the amount of load being lifted and the movement being executed.
