• What: The paper shows a lack of statistical significance of the impact of the proportion of the rural population on the proportion of the informally employed. The production approach focuses on the activity pattern of informal sector actors (or production units). The analysis aims at removing the endogeneity of the unemployment rate in the models by using the poverty rate as an instrumental variable.
