    The resulting complex hologram is directly converted to a phase-only hologram via amplitude discarding, temporal averaging, or the double phase method (and its variants)6,14,17,18. Conversely, 3D-DGH29, DeepCGH3, and Neural Holography24,27 leverage unsupervised training by only specifying the desired amplitude at one or multiple depth planes and rely on the CNN itself to discover the optimal phase-only holograms analogous to the optimization-based methods. The resulting system, which the authors dubbed Tensor Holography V2, can directly synthesize photorealistic 3D phase-only holograms end-to-end without manual . . .
