  • what: Having shown previously that thrombin signalling after OGD occurs rapidly, as hirudin administered immediately after OGD for 1 h conferred the same protection as hirudin applied for 24 h after OGD , the authors focused on the 1 h time-point. The results make two further points: Firstly, the authors demonstrate an increase in thrombin protease enzyme activity in brain tissue after ischemia . . .
