SUMMARY

    Sepsis is a life-threatening condition defined by multi-organ dysfunction secondary to a dysregulated host response to infection. Experimental and clinical studies have evidenced microcirculatory abnormalities in sepsis, which are strongly associated with organ dysfunction and mortality.
