HIGHLIGHTS
- What: In this article an attempt was made to obtain biopolyols from selected solid plant fats i.e. babassu cocoa coconut mango palm or shea oil. The results of the analysis allowed the authors to conclude that the obtained products of the transesterification reaction are characterized by beneficial properties, and all 6 biopolyols can be used in the synthesis of PUVFs. The use of 30% of these biopolyols in polyol premix would probably be possible after modifying the formula to obtain good quality PUVF, but this operation is beyond the scope of the research described here.
