Epigenetic mechanisms of strip2 in differentiation of pluripotent stem cells

HIGHLIGHTS

SUMMARY

Embryonic stem_cells (ESCs) offer the exciting opportunity to identify genes that are required for differentiation and development of somatic_cells. Strip2 has 61% amino_acid identity and two distinct domains: the N-terminal N1221-like domain and the C-terminal DUF3402 domain (domain of unknown function 3402). Although Strip2-silenced murine ESCs (Strip2--ESCs) were differentiated into embryoid bodies (EBs) for 16 days (16-day Strip2--EBs), they still showed a strong tumorigenic potential and high expression levels of epigenetic regulator genes Hat1 and Dnmt3. To date, the involvement of Strip2 in epigenetic regulation of stem_cell . . .
