SUMMARY
Diabetic nephropathy (DN) is a common microvascular complication of diabetes, with its incidence increasing in recent years. Long-term hemodialysis damages vascular endothelial function, leads to atherosclerosis and other problems, and increases the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events in patients. A previous study pointed out that DN patients might encounter various cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events such as heart failure, myocardial infarction, and cerebral infarction during maintenance hemodialysis, increasing the risk of death.
