Evaluating distraction safety performance indicators in an urban area of a low- or middle-income country: a case study of yaoundé, cameroon

HIGHLIGHTS

  • What: The aim of this work is to evaluate the distraction safety performance indicators in Yaoundé using a proven and well-defined methodology that is easily applicable, and to propose recommendations to reduce the amount of distracted driving and increase the overall safety and attractiveness of the city. To increase representativeness of the study at the city level, the minimum number of observation points was applied to the three main types of roads in Yaoundé (primary, secondary and tertiary) taking the minimum number of observation points from 10 to 30 (10 per road type).
