  • What: The authors propose a novel method to successfully increase the band gap of 7-armchair nanoribbons by introducing the pre-designed shape of cutting. The focus of the research is thus twofold: firstly, to open a band gap in graphene, and secondly, to manipulate the band structure by precisely cutting the edges of the graphene nanoribbons.
