Evaluation of carp sperm respiration: fluorometry with optochemical oxygen sensor versus polarography

  • What: In the experiments, mature males of common carp (Cyprinus carpio) kept at the Genetic Fisheries Centre, Faculty of Fisheries and Protection of Waters, Vodnany, Czech Republic, were used. The study showed that the OCR of carp sperm in the non-activated state corresponds to already documented values (Boryshpolets et_al 2009a; Ingermann 2008).
