SUMMARY
With an anxiety rate 8 times higher than in the general population and 4 times higher than in other individuals with intellectual disability, it is the most prevalent mental health problem for individuals with WS. The available drug treatments have been found effective in reducing the level of anxiety in individuals with WS. A pilot study carried out in 2013 highlighted a mindfulness-based intervention for individuals with WS.
