Evaluation of the effects of extrusion parameters on the swelling of extruded filament in an innovative 3d printer containing a vertical co-rotating twin-screw extrusion unit

  • What: Primarily, it focuses on general experimental observations and the development of analytical models aimed at understanding these observations . In this study, the phenomenon of die swell was analysed in a 3D printer containing a customized co-rotating vertical twin-screw extrusion unit (Co-TSE AM). In this study, shear rates were calculated using two methodologies. In this study, extrusion parameters in the printing stability related to die swell phenomenon were investigated from an innovative additive manufacturing equipment, based on miniaturized Co-TSE printhead to direct fabrication.
