HIGHLIGHTS
- who: Cédric Castrogiovanni from the (UNIVERSITY) have published the research: Evidence for a HURP/EB free mixed-nucleotide zone in kinetochore-microtubules, in the Journal: (JOURNAL) of 11/08/2021
- what: This zone becomes visible in cells expressing fluorescently labelled end-binding proteins, a known marker for GTP-tubulin, and endogenously-labelled HURP - a protein which the authors show to preferentially bind the GDP microtubule lattice in_vitro and in_vivo. To verify the model, the authors assessed Nature Communications | 13:4704 model predictions, including the diffusion constant of HURP molecules.
- how: HURP preferentially . . .
