Open-vent volcanoes also allow calibration and association with characteristic geophysical signals allowing a better understanding of the conduit and source dynamics of explosive and effusive eruptions or modelling the plumbing systems (e_g Ripepe et_al 2017; Magee et_al 2018; Gottschämmer et_al 2021).
