The popularity of meditation-based apps suggests that such apps may be an important tool in improving mental health and reducing disparities in access to mental health care. It remains unclear whether a freely available meditation app might be able to reduce disparities in meditation access and utilization in the general population in the the authors and if factors such as the diversity of persons delivering content might influence app utilization.
