Experimental verification of geometric changes caused by the release of residual stresses for large-scale welded frames

HIGHLIGHTS

• What: The aim of the research presented in this article was to evaluate the dimensional changes in welded frames subjected to spontaneous, free relaxation (frame No 1) and rapid relaxation using a vibratory stress relief method (frame No 2). The study was conducted for a welded frame made of the same profiles as a vibration relaxed frame, which is a section of the original final frame.
