HIGHLIGHTS
- What: Given this context, the primary objective for cotton breeders is to create a publicly accessible database of molecular markers that can be used as a genetic diversity detection system. The aim of this study was to explore and evaluate the molecular diversity and genetic polymorphisms among fourteen cotton genotypes using agronomic/ morphological characters and genomic SSR markers. The findings of the investigation revealed that the polymorphism information content (PIC) results indicated a PIC value over 0.5 for all SSR markers that were evaluated.
