SUMMARY

    There is a paucity of comprehensive information regarding post-stroke HRQoL trajectories in young adult stroke survivors and therefore much of the variance of HRQoL after IS remains unexplained in this population. The previous studies and their syntheses evaluating HRQoL after a stroke at a young age were heterogeneous regarding the type of stroke included or the age limits definitions for young adults. Investigation of predictors of post-stroke HRQoL in young-onset patients is needed for the creation, implementation and evaluation of specific young stroke rehabilitation and stroke self-management programs.
