SUMMARY

    Based on qualitative evaluation of these cases, it may be reasonable to expect some patients will successfully transition to sublingual buprenorphine with little to no symptoms of withdrawal while using a novel buprenorphine dosing strategy. The aim of this study is to apply a configurational approach to a subset of data from the earlier systematic review to answer the following question: when patients received a buprenorphine initiation strategy aimed to eliminate prerequisite withdrawal, what factors consistently distinguished patients that experienced withdrawal during the initiation process from patients that did not?
