HIGHLIGHTS
- What: The study demonstrates important changes to gut microbiota composition and the structure of the intestinal mucosal barrier in SHRs and WKY rats following cross-transplantation and demonstrates the effect of microbiota composition on BP. Similarly, the authors show that the F/B ratio is significantly higher in SHRs compared with WKY rats. The authors show that fecal transplantation from hypertensive rats decreases the proportion of butyric acid-producing bacteria in normotensive recipient rats, which is accompanied by an increase in blood pressure.
