Frequency dependence of the thermal dust e/b ratio and eb correlation: insights from the spin-moment expansion

SUMMARY

    The EE/BB asymmetry and T E correlation relate to the anisotropic structure of the magnetized interstellar medium with filamentary structures in total intensity preferentially aligned with the Galactic magnetic_field (Clark et_al 2015; Planck Collaboration XXXVIII 2016). Within a phenomenological framework, a coherent misalignment between filamentary dust structures and the magnetic_field can account for the dust T B signal and should also imply a positive EB (Clark et_al 2021; Cukierman et_al 2022). The arbitrary reference frequency ν0 is used for normalization, and the dust polarization amplitude A=p0 τ cos2 (γ) can be expressed in terms . . .
