SUMMARY
The COVID-19 pandemic, especially in its first wave in the early spring of 2020, brought along many new challenges for frontline healthcare professionals (HCP). While a health care crisis did not actualize here during the first wave, anticipation and "bracing oneself" for the arrival of the pandemic resulted in rapid modifications to patient management systems 2 of 8 and changes to the mental preparedness of the frontline health care workforce that the authors aimed to investigate. Estonian frontline HCP relied on their previous training and experience, and the majority of them reported confidence . . .
