SUMMARY

    Indeed, deceiving behavior during adolescence-even if occasional-has been shown to turn into a persistent personality trait (Gervais et_al, 2000; Halpert, 2000; Stouthamer-Loeber, 1986), and it is an early indicator of antisocial behaviors such as aggression, delinquency, and classroom disruptive behavior (Gervais et_al, 1998; Mitchell and amp; Rosa, 1981; Stewart and amp; de Blois, 1985), as well as depressive symptoms (Dykstra et_al, 2020). In the literature, lying and deception are often considered synonymous and used interchangeably (e_g, Childs, 2012, 2013; Dreber and amp; Johannesson, 2008; Dugar et_al, 2019; Erat, 2013; Gneezy, 2005 . . .
