Gender differences in acoustic-perceptual mapping of emotional prosody in mandarin speech

HIGHLIGHTS

  • What: The authors aim to study the effect of the decoder`s gender on voice-emotion perceptual mapping with acoustic-supported analysis, covering acoustic measurement for encoded expressions, gender biological differences for transmission, and perceptual responses for inferentially decoded attribution. To provide new research evidence on the gender-based differences in emotion auditory perception, this work attempts to combine the perceptual experiment with acoustic-supported analysis to help reveal the complicated mechanisms of various emotional and behavioral issues.
