  • what: The authors therefore orally inoculated chicks with pure cultures of 76 different bacterial isolates originating from chicken on day 1 of life and determined their ability to colonise seven days later. Four days later, i.e., when the chicks were 12 days old, the experiment was terminated, caecal contents were collected, and Salmonella counts were determined . . .
