Handover patterns: an observational study of critical care physicians

Our study is based on transcriptions of randomly sampled portions of those sessions. Throughout our data collection, we were careful not to alter the behaviour and setting that we were observing. Two of the investigators (RI, DH) participated as subjects in the study by continuing in their role as attending physicians and by conducting handovers as usual.
