- What: Using waveguide acoustics the authors show that common drilling communications channels support carrier frequencies exceeding several hundred Hertz. The authors address the more complicated problem in Figure 9, here shown in more common terms to avoid reader biases that may arise from preconceived petroleum ideas. In Figure 17, the authors demonstrate the extended delay model. Despite intense interest and high commercial potential, the turbosiren at the lower portion of Figure 15 was never tested - the model shown was fabricated without bearings, seals, housings, or any electrical connections to measurement devices.
