SUMMARY
Challenges such as stigma and loneliness may increase vulnerability to HIV infection and negatively affect the quality of life of PLHIV despite the massive investment in access to antiretroviral therapy. The incidence of loneliness is high among people living with chronic illnesses such as HIV compared to the general population due to stigma and discrimination.
