- who: Guillaume Golovkine from the Univ, USR3010, Lyon, France have published the research: Host cell surfaces induce a Type IV pili-dependent alteration of bacterial swimming, in the Journal: Scientific Reports Scientific Reports
- what: Altogether, the authors show that the major effect of pili deficiency was to modify the distribution of trajectories between classes, increasing the proportion of bacteria interacting least with the surface. The authors show for the first time that not all swimming bacteria in a clonal population of P. aeruginosa respond in the same way to the presence of a surface.
