• What: The severity scores the authors propose aim at COVID-19 disease, due to its rapid spreading worldwide, has led to the most severe pandemic since the deadly Spanish flu, which killed up to 100 million individuals in the past century. The complexity of COVID-19 immediately suggests that both common and rare variants are expected to contribute to the likelihood of developing a severe form of the disease.
