SUMMARY
Parasitic Plants and Agriculture Parasitic angiosperms represent a broad group of more than 4500 species, distributed into 12 families and approximately 300 genera. Regardless of the degree of parasitism, e_g, full or partial dependence on the host_plant, they all share a common feature called the haustoria, the functional physiological link between hosts and parasites. Although overall harmful, not all parasitic plants are equally damaging to their hosts from the perspective of human activity.
