For several individuals belonging to low income households in the Netherlands, food aid or discounted food packages from various privately run organisations across the country were a vital source of food security before the onset 1 By redistributing this food while it is still safe to consume, these organisations seek to address the highly pertinent issues of food insecurity and food waste.
