Although housing mix (type or tenure mix) and social mix are theoretically interrelated and have positive effects on people`s lives, whether mixed housing strategies can inevitably lead to social mix and overcome negative neighborhood effects has been a subject of debate for a long time. This study intended to probe the links between housing tenure mix and social mix, and their effects on social environments and the resultant influence on residents` health outcomes.
