SUMMARY
Studies have shown the involvement of multiple factors such as environmental and psychological factors, epithelial barrier defects, and immune disorders, including abnormal cytokine secretion and immune_response dysregulation in the pathogenesis of UC. Previous studies have shown alterations in the adaptive immune_responses as a potential cause of UC. Recent studies have focused on the alterations in innate immune_responses in the mucosa of the intestine as the cause of UC pathogenesis. CIBERSORT analysis revealed a significant increase in the levels of memory-activated CD4+ T_cells, T_follicular_helper_cells, M1 macrophages, and neutrophils in the colon tissues of patients . . .
